Introduction

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is a novel that depicts American society during the Roaring Twenties. The story is centered around the life of the successful Jay Gatsby narrated by newcomer Nick Carraway. Jay Gatsby makes his fortune in order to win the affection of Nick Carraway’s cousin, a woman of high status. With this novel, Fitzgerald coined the term the Jazz Age with the glamorization of the lavish parties and fancy clothing of people during this period. However, Fitzgerald argues the social mobility of the ‘new money’ populous is an illusion during the 1920s.

Task

For this webquest, watch the videos on the three categories then write a response to each of the questions legibly on a sheet of notebook paper. ( Each group member must turn in an individual sheet of notebook paper with the answers to part one and two on the process.) Keep these answers and then create a short Google slide show with the answers to present to the class. Include pictures along with the facts on the slides.
