Introduction
So many places to visit and not enough time!!!
The assistants in our high school are great travellers, and they want to see as much of Spain as they can before they return home. We are going to help them by creating great Road Trips for them! Let's get going.
Task
In groups of three or four, you will be producing a presentation for language assistants working in Spain to visit different cities in the country. Your presentation will be part of a competition as the assisstants will decide which city they will visit in their next long week end or holidays!
So, your job here is to create brief presentation of the city you want the assistants to visit, to convice them to go there. The presentation will be on a digital format. You can use Picktochart , Canva, Power Point, Prezzi, etc. for this, or you can create your own template.
Your brochure should include at least the following information, plus anything else you consider relevant:
- Name of the city, and some historical information about it.
- Pictures or a view of the city, maybe a street map...
- How can you go there? (Transport) Where are they stopping on their way?
- What do you like about this city? What makes it special?
- What sights can you visit there? What can you do? Where can you go to eat? And to sleep?
- How much money will it cost?
Process
To complete this task, follow these steps:
1- Get in groups of three or four. Pick the name of you city.
2- Look a different models for tourist or cities brochures.
3- Search the internet to find appropriate websites to read about the cities, and copy the links for your oral presentation. You can also look at the links suggested in the teacher's page. Select your information and write it in your own words.
4- Discuss and decide which parts of the city you want to visit or what type of trip (cultural, artistic, adventurous, ...) your proposal will be. Then include headings accordingly.
5- Find pictures, maps, photos, to use in your presentation.
6- Create your own trip. See if you need to learn how to use online tools to create a presentation. Consider the two tools proposed by the teacher (go to teacher's page and/or watch a tutorial video).
7- Present and show the class, to learn about other cities.
Evaluation
Your group work is going to be evaluated according to this rubric:

Conclusion
I hope you have learned a lot with this assignment.
Now, take some time to reflect on what you have learned and the results.
- How did you feel working in your group? Did every member do their share of the tasks?
- What surprised you about planning a road trip? How did you find using a digital format to do it?
- Did you find the process valuable? What worked? What did not work?
