Math Games Around the World

Introduction

You will have the opportunity to explore math games that students play all around the world in your adventure. Buckle up and get ready to learn some amazing math games from students around the world. 

Task

What math games are played all around the world? 

 

Process

1. You will pick a math game that is played from another country around the world. You will find the different math games in a multicultural book  called " Math Games and Activities," by Claudia Zaslavsky. 

2. Once you have chosen your game you will began to research that country. I want you to learn all about that country. 

3. Take your research and create a presentation to inform the class about your country. You may choose how you present this information! Be creative! 

4. After you have created your presentation you will now create your math game from that country. This will need to include directions on how to play the game, the supplies needed for the game, and the game itself. 

5. Students present their presentation and teach others how to play their math game from the country they chose.

Evaluation

I will grade your presentation and game together for this activity. Mrs. Van Roy will have a rubric she provides you to help with this. 

Conclusion

After completing this project I would like to complete a reflection on what you loved about it, what you would do differently, and what you learned.
