Introduction

The purpose of this activity is introduce you to the genre, Historical Fiction in an effort to make proper connections to the novels: 

George Washington Socks & George Washington's Spy both by Elvira Woodruff.

Task

Our novels, George Washington Socks & George Washington's Spy both are classified as "Historical Fiction." 

[3rd graders and students that were not in EELA last year will be reading "Socks" and students that read "Socks" in last year's Albion book club will read "Spy".]

What is this genre and why are our novels identified as such? 

Today you will spend some time learning about the literary genre, Historical Fiction. This will be done through reading a variety of articles and watching videos to help with understanding. 

Process

You will read one article and watch two videos on the genre, Historical Fiction. After reading and viewing relevant information, you will complete a short quiz/Google Form to show your understanding of this genre. Please note, you must complete the Google Form in order to receive points for this activity.
