European Explorers!

Introduction

Explorers were given the task of boarding their ships with a strong crew and large supplies of food, water, and tools to embark on a journey to a New World.  Each explorer had a different reason for boarding his ships and sailing to unknown lands, and they each had their own set of achievements and obstacles along the way.  Take a look at this video to give you an overview of the information you'll learn in this WebQuest!

Task

You are about to embark on a journey with a European Explorer!  You've been given the task of recording the important information about your Explorer and journey to report back to the people of your sponsor country.  The people want to know why you and your Explorer are exploring, the route of your journey and where you safely landed, and the achievements and obstacles of your Explorer and his crew.

You will  be recording your journey and findings, and prepare a brochure to give the people at home in your sponsor country.

You will be assigned  an Explorer and give you the handouts and graphic organizers to complete each day.  Use the websites, photos, and videos provided for you each day, based on your assigned Explorer.  Each student will complete their own brochure to turn in along with a written piece.
