The Branches of Government

Introduction

Welcome to Miss. Jamison's WebQuest,

Through this WebQuest you all should learn about our three branches of government. How many people make up each branch, what they do, and learn about the system of checks and balances. I am expecting all of you to work throughout the course of the class period to complete this task. You will follow the links provided and take notes as you go. This information will help you when we do our next activity within the week.

Task

Find:

What are the three branches of Government?

How many members are in each?

Who is the head of each of the three branches?

What are the duties of each branch?

How does each branch work into our system of checks and balances?

Define each branch.

NOTE: If you do not complete this WebQuest during our class time today I am expecting you to complete it as homework. The link will stay on the white board throughout class so make sure you copy it down into your notes.

Process

Evaluation

You all will be graded on how you answer these questions. If you follow through all eight links. I will be taking up the notes that have been taken up and graded based on the information that has been gathered. I want you to work your way through each branch, completing the tasks, then at the end answer the question "How does each branch work into our system of checks and balances?" I want this question to be will thought through. If you would like you can relate the system of checks and balances to your life experiences.

Conclusion

I hope all of you have had a wonderful time completing this WebQuest. I hope that you all learned something new from this experience and that it has helped you learn more about our systems of Checks and Balances/ The Three Branches of Government.
