1) Politics: who was in power? what major political events happened around the world? 

2) Pop Culture (Music, Games, Toys): what toys became popular or came out? what video games were popular? what music or musical artists were big in the 80's?

3) Fashion: what fashion choices were big during the 1980's?

4) TV/Movies: most famous TV shows came out? what famous movies? big Oscar winners?
