Introduction

You are confronted with mathematical inequalities almost every day, but you may not notice them because they are so familiar. Think about the following situations: speed limits on the highway, minimum payments on credit card bills, number of text messages you can send each month from your cell phone, and the amount of time it will take to get from home to school. All of these can be represented as mathematical inequalities. And, in fact, you use mathematical thinking as you consider these situations on a day-to-day basis.

Task

In this webquest, you will visit numerous sites, through a scavenger hunt, to understand and complete inequality problems.
After this, you will get into groups of 3-4 and we will be making google slides that:
- List the real-world problem you chose
- List the URL of where you found your problem
- Explain the problem
- Discuss how you solved that problem
Remember to share your Google Slides with group members.
Process
Teams
Manager- the manager makes sure everything and everybody in the group is working smoothly and everything is going as planned.
Designer- the designer is the one that makes sure everything on the slides looks good.
Computer Expert- the computer expert is the one that is responsible for looking up the pictures online and putting everything on the slides.
Comprehender- the comprehender makes sure that all the material that you look up relates to what the slide is about.
Step 1: Individual
As an individual, visit the sites. You will find pertinent information on each site that will help you decipher a code to complete your project.
Step 2: Discuss
Get in the groups that were assigned and discuss the different problems you can choose from. Remember, every person in the group has to have one problem that they can put onto your slides. Tell your story to each other in the group following the bullet points in the Task.
Step 3: Create
After everyone in the group knows everyone's story, it is time to type out your stories one at a time. Following those bullet points, each person in the group needs to type out a slide on what their problem was.
Step 4: Pictures
Find the two pictures that you are going to use to put on your slides that relate to the problem you had. Make sure to make them look nice with backgrounds and borders.
Step 5: Complete your presentation
After your project is done, you will present them to the class.
