Introduction
Historians find evidence and information and then use their knowledge to help teach others about different events and that is exactly what you will be doing today!

You will be researching the Buckland Riot that occurred in the Buckland Valley during the gold rush. You will research, collect, analyse and use the evidence you find to create a presentation. This presentation will be viewed by others to learn about this event.
Task
The See Yup Society of Victoria will be hosting information sessions at each of the local school for students and families to learn about the history of the Chinese miners specifically the Buckland Riot. You be assisting them by creating a presentation on the Buckland Riot which they will use during their information sessions to teach others about the event.
Your presentation will need to include:
- How and why the Chinese miners came to the Buckland Valley
- A map of the Buckland Valley indicating where many of the miners lived.
- Why the Europeans did not like the Chinese miners
- When the Buckland Riot occurred
- What happened during the riot
- Statistics of miners i.e. how many Chinese miners there were before and after the riot.
You may choose to create a Prezi or a PowerPoint.

2. How did the Chinese people travel to the Buckland Valley?
3. What was the date of the riot?
4. Who was involved in the riot?
5. What damage did the riot cause?
Evaluation
Students will complete a 2 stars and a wish self assessment task. This will involve students writing about two things they did well in their presentation and one thing they wish to improve on next time. These strengths and/or area to improve on can be in relation to the content and the presentation skills.
