Introduction
Welcome!
Today you will be completing an inquiry-based project through this WebQuest. You will be getting creative and creating a form of advertisement to encourage others to visit the small town of Beechworth and to explore the history of the gold rush.

Task
The advertisements used in Beechworth Visitor Information Centre have not been successful in encouraging people to take part in the 'Echoes of History Guided Walking Tour.' This tour allows for the exploration of Beechworth and its history in relation to the gold rush.
Your task is to create a form of advertisement to have displayed at the Beechworth Information Centre to assist in encouraging people to take part in the tour. You can choose to create:
- A brochure
- A poster
- A flyer
Although the creativity is up to you, there are a few things that need to be included. So be sure to include:
- A description of the gold rush
- A map of Beechworth
- Information about the town of Beechworth
- The key information about the walking tour
- Dates relevant to the gold rush in Beechworth
- Any important or iconic names in relation to the Beechworth gold rush
- Information about how is the gold rush still made evident in Beechworth today
- The significant links to Asia (specifically in relation to China)
The brochures, posters or flyers may be created using ICT, or created by hand (with paper and pencils/textas/crayons) or they can use a combination of both. This is completely up to you.
Ensure you are creative and ensure the advertisement can capture the attention of people visiting the Visitor Information Centre!

The following websites may assist you in the creation of your advertisement.

To reflect on the work completed in task tasks, students will compete a peer evaluation on the designed brochures, flyers or posters. The peer evaluation will be in the form of '2 stars and a wish.'
