Introduction
CALLING ALL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS! K - 3rd
WE ARE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR AN EXTREMELY COLD PLANET !!!!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PLANET MARS, BUT WE DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT'S LOCATED OR WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!
We need your help in locating the planet Mars, there will be steps we need to take to learn more about its appearance and its whereabouts before we can locate it.
ARE YOU READY TO JOIN THE EXPLORERS TEAM??
Task
As you all should know, we are surrounded by many interesting planets!!
Planet Explorers, for this Web Quest your teacher will split you up into groups of 4-6 students.
In the groups there will be a group leader who will be in charge of writing down the answers the group is finding. These answers will be written down in a worksheet that will be handed out by the teacher. Only one work sheet per group and the worksheet will be found in the process section of the Web Quest.
All these planets look so different from each other, that in order to know which one is which you would have to know how it looks and where it's located and also its unique features.
Today our Goal for this project is :
-
To learn what the planet Mars looks like. (color, size, texture)
-
To learn where the planet Mars is located. (close to the sun or away)
-
To learn about Mars's special unique features. (does it have craters, moons, stars)
After learning some interesting facts about Mars, you might even be interested in learning many more things about mars besides the three listed above.
For example, we could explore more facts...we will give you questions that could gain you some extra knowledge on the process part of the web quest!
HINT! HINT!
At the end you may also be receiving a color sheet of mars, where you will get to color Mars and have some fun :]
Process
