Lifetime Fitness

Introduction

This WebQuest is designed to help students to better understand and appreciate the importance of lifelong fitness! Included in this site, are fitness activities that one can do at any age! 

 

Task

In this WebQuest, your goal is to research multiple different lifelong fitness activities and create a three-week workout plan for  Gertude, a 60-year old lady who wants to continue to stay active. Her goal is to workout five times a week, incorporating muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility into her workout regiment. She prefers her workouts to be 60 minutes long. 

1. Use an excel calendar to organize Gertude's workout schedule for the three weeks. 

2. Remember to be specific and explain all exercises in order for Gertude to understand.

Process

1. Define the following health-related fitness areas :

  • Cardiovascular endurance
  • Muscular strength
  • Muscular endurance
  • Flexibility
