Introduction
Failing is a part of life. In fact, it accounts for many, many successes - for without failing, success is almost impossible. Learning how to bounce back from failure is not always easy, but it is necessary. Enthusiasm for goal attainment is necessary characteristic for success.
Task
You will be researching five (5) individuals (or groups) who became successful after many failures in his or her life. You will gather information about these individuals and create a trading card that outlines the key facts about what hurdles they overcame prior to becoming famous. After completing your cards we will get together in class and present your creations!
Process
Your task has been divided into three steps.
Step 1:
First, you will be researching each of your famous people. For each person you will have to find the following information:
Name, Birth/Death date, struggles/failures from their past, what they are famous for today and any other fun facts. Be sure to include one piece of information that makes your person unique.
After you have discovered all of this information, you should assign a "Catchphrase" to each person that summarizes the information you found.
Below you will find some resources to help you with this process.

When you have finished this step move on to step two.
2
The second part of your task is where you get to be creative. You can use card-stock, construction paper, or flashcards to create trading cards for each of your famous people.
For each person/group you should create a card that includes all of the information that you found in step one. Please use the front and back to ensure the card looks presentable and is organized effectively and clearly.
You may organize the cards however you want, but make sure each card is organized the same way and is the same size and shape. Some key guidelines that you need to follow to make sure that I now what your cards are:
Assign a color for each area of succes and create your card on the color of the individuals profession (for example, blue for business, so I would use blue cardstock for Steve Jobs).
Once you have created your five (5) cards you may move on to step three.
3
After you have completed your research and created your trading cards you need to prepare to present it all to the class.
You can start your presentation of each card by saying your "catchphrase" and see if anyone in the classroom can guess your person.
Then you can present the key facts about each individual and why they are famous today.
You should spend no longer than a minute on each person when you present.

Conclusion
Great Job! I'm sure that your trading cards will be a huge success! Think of everything that you have accomplished and how we can view our "failures" and use them to become successful individuals! Now that you are an expert on overcoming failure, ask yourself and respond to the discussion on schoology these questions:
Did your opinion about failure change during this research?
Did you learn something new about a successful person?
What did you find most interesting about this project? Why?
How will you use your failures and turn them into successes?
Thank you for completing this WebQuest, I hope that it has been enjoyable and most importantly, that you have learned something that will help you in the future!
