Welcome to this WebQuest: Literature Search and Annotated Bibliography 2018

For part of your test grade you will be working in this WebQuest.
The Objective of this practice is to help your improve the abilites learnt throughtout unit 2 and to give you an opportunity to carry out a literature search ina an efective and easy manner.
A WebQuest is made up of different steps that lets us create a final product that will be sent electronically.
The First step is the Task: here you will find instructions to be followed in order to finish the final product.
The Second step : Process , here you will find the 'How?' of the Task.
The Third step: Evaluation , you will find how to evaluate your final product.
The Conclusion is the closing of the activity.

Your Task at the end of the WebQuest will be a worksheet in in Word format which will be uploaded to the platform under Assignments: WebQuest.
The name of the file will be as follows: WebQuest Task_ your name
The first step is to download the Worksheet and save it to your computer so you can edit it. This worksheet is made up of different activities that will be completed as you carry out your literature search.
MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE WORKSHEET.
Your task is to complete the worksheet following the instructions in the WebQuest and Worksheet. You will in the process learn how to structure an annotated bibliography.
The final product will be the uploading of the Completed Worksheet and the self-evaluation at the end of it.

During the sessions in Unit 2 , we saw the different phases of literature research and we had the opportunity to search the web and carry out some searches.
During this session we will conyinue to work on the phases of Literature search.
Start by downloading the Worksheet and saving it to your computer. Once saved save it as WebQuest_your name. Now we are ready to start.
Phase I
Let's rememeber that Phase I is Deciding the Topic of Research. Now that you are certain of your topic, we move on to the next phase.
Phase II
Stating a Research Question
During this phase the objective is to narrow your topic as much as possible.
1. In order to carry out this search you first need to state a general question. In your Worksheet complete the first activity in this phase.

5. It is important to understand the relationship between keywords and to know the order or heriarchy that they hold . The following activity will help you develop this understanding. Using a concept map program you will create your own concept map showing the relationships that the terms or keywords hold, you may include synonyms, translated words, etc. The objective is to show your keywords in a clear way and their relationship.

Phase III
In this Phase you will construct your search starategy or your search phrase
You now have your keywords and you will use them for your search.
6. We learnt in the last phase about the actual search, now we will use what we have learnt to carry out a search in: PubMed and use or search phrase with MeSH. Paste your search in activity 7
7. Now carry out the search in PubMed and answer activity 8 and 9.
Phase IV
In this phase we will choose the resources to use for our search
8. HERE you can find a list of Databases and more, your task for this activity is to search in an effective and efficient manner the information you need. Complete activity 10.
9. It is important to remember that our focus in the search of the problem is from the global point to the local, therefore you must search in this manner to complete activity 11.
Phase V
We are in the last phase that dels with refining the search

11. In order to refine our search we must set a time lapse limit, now search for the last two years and complete activity 13.
12. Now, you need to analyze the information to see how useful it will be. Look for 5 articles that you consider relevant for your project from two different sites. the details for analysis are in the worksheet activity 14.
13. As a final step read the following sites: Annotated Bibliography, Annotated Bib, Annotated in APA. Now that you know how to do an annotated bibliography. Complete activity 15.
