Introduction
This lesson will help the learners to understand the function of each government branch. It is important to citizens be aware on how does our government run its country and how does it work.
Lets take a look on the three branches of government:
1. LEGISLATIVE- is someone with the power to make laws or rules.The people that make up the legislative branch of the government include the House of Representatives and the Senate.
2. EXECUTIVE- branch of government empowered and required to administer the laws and affairs of a nation. The people that make up the executive branch include the president, vice president, the cabinet members and local government.
3. JUDICIARY- this branch interprets the laws. The people that make up the judiciary branch includes the supreme courts, lower courts and chief justice.
Task
Your task is to create a poster about the branch you are in and must include what exactly the branch does in the government. One representative from each group will discuss what their poster means.
After the presentation in a one whole sheet of paper each group will pass a summary of the three branches of the government.
Process
The students will form three groups in the classroom. One group for each the Judicial, Executive and Legislative Branch. After forming their groups the students will find or search at least 3 facts about the branch of government that was given to their group. After the discussion of each group they will make a poster and share to the class.
After the presentation in a one whole sheet of paper each group will pass a summary of the three branches of the government.
