Introduction

Fitness is the ability to live a full and balanced life. The totally fit person has a healthy and happy outlook towards life. Fitness is the young man’s absolute necessity. It breeds self- reliance and keeps man mentally alert.

Physical fitness is essential for human beings to adjust well with his environment as his mind and body are in complete harmony.1 It is generally agreed that physical fitness is an important part of the normal growth and development of a child, a generic definition regarding the precise nature of physical fitness has not been universally accepted. Through research and scholarly inquiry, it is clear that the multi-dimensional characteristics of physical fitness can be divided into two areas: health related physical fitness and skill related physical fitness.

Physical fitness is not a static factor and it varies from individual to individual and in the same person from time to time depending on factors. Physical fitness is probably the most popular and frequently used term in physical education.

The most important objective of physical educators is to develop physical fitness. According to Nixon and cozens (1964), it was the desire to establish a scientific approach to the development of physical fitness which formed the basis of the first meeting of physical educators in 1885 when the profession of physical education originated.

 

objectives:

  • the learners should be able to define what is physical fitness
  • the learners should be able to perform the five skilled related of physical fitness
  • the learners should state the importance the five physical fitness

 

Task

1. the students should explain what is physical fitness

2. enumerate the five parts of skill-related fitness 

3. students will be group in to two and perform some of the skill-related physical fitness

4. what is the importance of the five skill-related physical  in our daily life

Process

1. define first what is physical fitness

2.each of them will take a distance of running to exercise their body.

3. in performing the running distance, what would be the possible skill-related fitness?

 

Skill Related Components of Fitness

Agility

Is the ability to change the position of your body and to control the movement of your whole body. Agility is an important quality in many sports, because you must change direction rapidly and always have your body under control.

Balance

Is the ability to keep an upright posture while either standing still or moving. Good balance in essential in many activities like skating, surfing, skiing, and gymnastics.

Power

Is the ability to perform with strength at a rapid pace. Strength and speed are both involved in power. Football players, swimmers, shot-putters, discus throwers, and high jumpers are examples of athletes who typically have a high degree of power.

Reaction Time

Is the amount of time it takes to start a movement once your senses signal the need to move. People with good reaction time can usually start quickly in track and swimming or react quickly in ping pong or karate.

Coordination

Is the integration of eye, hand, and foot movements. This component is necessary for success in such sports as baseball, softball, tennis, golf, and basketball.

Speed

Is the ability to cover a distance in a short amount of time. Speed is a very important factor in many sports and activities. Short runs are used to evaluate speed.

Conclusion

-in doing the activity, we should be strict in the criteria so that the students should follow and perform a better output.

-Remember, too, that good health doesn’t come from being good in skill-related physical fitness. It comes from doing activities designed to improve your health-related physical fitness, and it can be enjoyed both by great athletes and by people who consider themselves poor athletes.
