Each student will be able to mirror the approach in a fascinating method for getting his/her involved in dancing through rhythmic movements while dancing very quickly. Using "Mirror Buddies" can be used as a motivational tool for getting students to take this form of dancing more seriously.
1. The students will be able discuss the easiest ways to make a circle with their arms out as far as possible to stretch then drop their arms.
2. The student that is opposite from the leader in a circle must reverse them instinctively like a mirror image and those halfway in between must be torn.
3. Students will repeat the process until the moves are perfected and they are able to make very rhythmic movements while mirroring the leader.
Process
These are the steps you must follow to be able to master these dance moves.
1. First, each student will be assigned to a group of 3-4
2. Students will use the web address www.historyworld.net/wrldhis/PlainTextHistories.asp?... to read about the history of dance and how dance can be utilized in different areas of life.
3. Then, students will choose music that would appeal to your group
4. Also, gather pen/pencil an paper to be used when mapping the music
5. Then, listen to the music and when the rhythm changes draw a line under the marks to indicate the change and continue through the song.
6. Next, go through the rest of the song to make cues to know where to perform certain moves.
7. Then, once all cues have been marked, divide the song into parts determining the number of beats for each part.
8.Next, create a routine using "count" with the chosen music
9. Watch Video from YouTube for examples to give you an idea of ways to create routines using counting system www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvmp8iof674
