Expository writing is a form of discourse mode that is use to explain or inform. There are different types of expository writing that are used for different purposes. Types of expository writing include process essay, cause and effect essay and comparison and contrast essay.

The purpose of this WebQuest is to expose you to cause and effect essay, so that you can ultimately create your own.

Task

At the end of this WebQuest, you should be able to:

  1. Explain the terms, cause and effect.
  2. List the signal words that are used to show cause and effect relationship.
  3. Identify cause and effect relationships in given sentences.
  4. Complete given scenarios using appropriate cause and effect statements.
  5. Construct a cause and effect essay based on given stimuli.
