The stolen and lost

In this lesson today we are going to be learning about The Stolen Generation. The Stolen Generation happened between 1910 - 1970.The Stolen Generation were the children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander decent who were removed from their families.

There are many famous Australian Aboriginals who were part of The Stolen Generation or could relate to The Stolen Generation. This includes: E.g. Cathy Freeman a Olympic runner whose Grandmother was part of The Stolen Generation and her herself had a rough childhood.

In this task you will be asked to choose a famous Indigenous Australian to do a presentation about. You may work in pairs. You must answer the questions below in your presentation.

1. What is he/she famous for?

2. How were they affected and part of The Stolen Generation?

3. When were they born?, What nation are they from? Some other facts about their lives.
