Ecosystems and chain food, Diego Encinas

Introduction

The following project is for 3rd grade students.

We live in a world where the different components that make up the ecosystems are not respected. Eliminating one of these components can cause a big change in the balance of ecosystems. In this Webquest, you will have the opportunity to know the different ecosystems that exist and the importance of the balance of their food chains.

Task

You are going to do different tasks to explore the ecosystems and the balance of them.

1- Inquiry into different ecosystems and write 5 interesting facts about them and write a list of the plants and animals that habit in them.

2- Watch a video and create a mind map where you will display your reflection of the video.

3- Create a series of food chains and food webs using plants and animal from various ecosystems.

4- Use your knowledge to find the best way to stabilize an ecosystem

5- Write and essay about the balance of the chain food of a picture given.

When the students complete all the task they will be able to understand the importance of keeping the balance in the ecosystems and the importance of respect and take care of all the components of the ecosystems. Additionally, they will learn how a chain food work and what are the consequences of removing an specie of the chain food.

Students will develop more responsibility to protect the ecosystems.
