Motivation
Let the students count how many door/s they have in the classroom and compare it to how many windows they have.
let them also compare the number of girls to number of boys
ACTIVITY
Let the class answer the activity by pair.
Show them how number one is being done.

Ratios are the mathematical numbers used to compare two things which are similar to each other in terms of units. For example, we can compare length of a pencil to length of a pen likewise distance to a unit that denotes distance. We can’t compare two things that are not similar to each other. Similarly, we can’t compare the height of a person to the weight of another person.
A ratio is denoted by ‘ : ’.
example:
In a farm, there are 6 white horses and 1 black horse. What is the ratio of black horse to white horse?
We write the ratio as
1 to 6 or 1 : 6 or 1/6
