Introduction
This web quest will walk you through famous inventors of technology that originated in Ohio.
4th grade standard: History Strand, Topic: Heritage, Content Statement 8: Many technology innovations that originated in Ohio benefited the United States.
Task
Students will use a timeline to fill in a blank one about the important innovations that originated in Ohio. They will then choose one inventor(s) to complete a graphic organizer about that person.
Process
1. Locate the timeline of the Technological Innovations Originating in Ohio.

2. Fill out the timeline below with pencil and turn in.
3. Pick one inventor from the list and fill out the About Me graphic organizer on that particular person. Use the website below.

The graphic organizer has these following questions:
- name of inventor
- name of invention that was from Ohio, what did it do?
- Other inventions
- Family life
- Important events in life
Evaluation
Turn in both the timeline and the graphic organizer about one of the inventors from the timeline.
Timeline is graded based on how many events are labeled properly, if the names of the inventors are spelled correctly, and that the events are in chronological order.
Graphic organizer is graded based on neatness, easy to read, follows one inventor, and each part is filled in.
Conclusion
Student should be able to list technology innovations and inventors that were from Ohio and benefited the United States.
