The Indian Independence Movement & The Civil Right Movement in the U.S.

Introduction

All movements were started by someone or by some people. People have always rebelled against their oppressors. It just matters how. There will always be leaders and followers and those followers can become leaders. For example on March 12, 1930 Indian independence leader Mohandas Gandhi led a peaceful protest against the British by walking across India to the sea while being attacked by armed British soldiers. Others perhaps maybe an admirer of Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. started a civil rights movement in 1954 and he walked throughout the capital of Washington D.C declaring his beliefs for African American rights. Other people in the past have fought for freedom and independence fighting for what is right.
