Introduction

Hi kids!

Today we are going to be learning more details about Anne Frank and her family in preparation of reading the Diary of Anne Frank.

The purpose of this lesson is to find out crucial information and to gain background knowledge of her story.

In today's lesson we will be talking about the events preceding Anne, what was happening during her story, and also what happened to her as a result of World War ll. We will be taking a quiz on the events as well as presenting a poster at the end of class.

Let's get started on the task!

Task

In order to be accomplished in the end of this web quest, students will start in groups of two.

They will then go to the links provided and research the events preceding World War ll, during World War ll, and after World War ll in Anne Frank's life in order to gain background knowledge in the timeline of Frank before reading the novel.

After the research is done students will answer questions on Google Classroom under Forms to show the knowledge that was gained.

Students will make a poster after answering and submitting the quiz under the Forms section, and present the poster at the end of class. The poster needs to have the information regarding before, during Anne's life, and after World War ll.

Process

To have all of the needed knowledge, students will need to know about life before World War ll, during World War ll, and after World War ll in regards to Anne Frank. Below are links for each section.

Students are to go to each link and read about listed time period. They are expected to be able to answers multiple questions, based on the readings, on a quiz. Students will be allowed to look back to the links for help answering the questions. They will take the quiz separately from their partner and WILL NOT be allowed to use them as a reference.

For the final project of the poster, to be completed after the quiz, students will come back and work on this together. Each student will be graded individually based on presentation and poster work.

Students are to explain three major events that happened in each of the time periods, i.e. before, during, and after, on the poster. They will be given poster paper and markers

Evaluation

Students will recieve two scores for this WebQuest. The first score will be based on the individuals quiz. The second score will be based on the poster presentation. Each question will be worth 5 points, and be scored out of a total of 60 points. The poster will be a group project but each student will have an indiviual grade. The grade will be based on individual participation and the rubric below. Image result for 7th grade presentation rubric
