Introduction
In this Webquest, you will learn about the causes and impacts of disasters of bridges. Some of the causes and impacts can be from earthquakes, tsunamis, design flaws, and more.
Task
First we look at the types of bridges. Then we build a prototype bridge and see if if it can stand earthquakes and other natural disasters. If it fails, we build another bridge in hopes of this bridge not collapsing/getting damaged.
Process
We use supplies such as string, wood, glue, cardboard etc. to make the bridge.
Evaluation
We can shake the bridge so it is like an earthquake. We can pour water over the bridge to see if it could stand major flooding or a tsunami. Make/get pretend cars and crash them into the bridge.
