Do you ever wonder why we celebrate specific days? It's all apart of history! Today we will explore some of our most famous national holidays and why they are important to us as a country.

To explore and learn more about our national holidays and why they are celebrated.
Task: Pick 3 of the National Holidays listed below
- Columbus Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Martin Luther King jr. Day

Steps:
1. Pick 3 different national holidays from the list on the Tasks page.
2. Browse on the provided websites given to you below.
3. Find out: what your holiday is, why is it important, and why it is celebrated?

Evaluation
To turn in:
1. You will create a poster on your 3 favorite national holidays.
2. Make sure to include:
- The name of your holidays

- Why they are celebrated
- Why they are important
3. When you are finished, make sure to write your name on the back and turn it in on my desk.
4. After we are all finished, we will have a gallery walk around the room to learn more about our nations holidays.

National Holidays are very important! They are significant times in history for us to remember!
