How to swing a golf club

Introduction

To introduce a golf lesson, I am going to ask if anyone has been mini golfing. After, I will ask which clubs are in a golf bag. I am also going to ask which golf club is the most important and why. Lastly, I will ask if anyone in the class has played golf and if so, if they would like to volunteer to show the class.

Task

By the end of the lesson, students will learn how to successfully make contact with a golf ball when swinging a golf club.

The video shown will be broken up (after each step) to explain and further demonstrate each step.

Evaluation

Formative Assessment: I will be walking around critiquing the students swings on what they're doing correctly and incorrectly. I will also be asking questions as I am walking around to ask the students how to get more power out of their swing and what happens if you take your eye off the ball through the swing.

Conclusion

By wrapping up the lesson, I will have a class discussion on questions that start with how did you like todays lesson? What can I do next time to further enhance the lesson? Do you find golf easy or difficult? In order to hit the ball accurately, what do you need to do? Who will go to the driving range to practice?
