Introduction

 

Professor Sadler is an amazing Geology teacher at San Jacinto College.

He is having a Rock Cycle lecture for 3RD GRADERS that includes one pop quiz. 

But they need your help!!!! 

It is your job to get the answers correct in order for them to get a good grade on this pop quiz. You will be given some links and are able to do some research about the Rock Cycle to figure out these answers. Click on the TASK TAB to find out the details.

Task

Once you complete this pop quiz, you have not only assisted Professor Sadler's Geology class but you will learn information about the Rock Cycle you may or may not have known.

You know there are different kind of rock, right?

You're job is to figure out which rock goes where.

Process

As you know, the Rock Cycle consists of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks. In this assignment, there will be 15 types of rocks that fall under either the Igneous, Sedimentary or Metamorphic categories (5 per each category).  Below is the list of the 15 rocks:

1. Marble                9. Shale

2. Coal                   10. Gabbro

3. Granite              11. Quartzite

4. Schist                12. Limestone

5. Slate                  13. Tuff

6. Flint                   14. Sandstone

7. Diorite               15. Basalt

8. Gneiss
