American Revolution

You and your partner will be creating an American Revolution ABC picture book for the 1st and 2nd graders at Fairview.

Your task is to create an alphabet book that teaches young children about the American Revolution in a way that is both interesting and entertaining. Your book must be colorful!

Part 1: The first part of your task is to do your research. I have included the websites that you and your partner are to use. You may not search the internet for others.

Remember you have to have information for every letter of the alphabet! Do your research! You need to have the following information in your ABC book:

      (2) taxes

      (3) causes of the American Revolution

      (4) major battles

      (5) important facts about the Declaration of Independence

      (5) women who played roles during the American Revolution

      (2) important battles

      (3) important individuals

      (2) lasting effects

Part 2: You will create your book in Google docs. Please follow the following guidelines:

• Your book must have all of the parts of a book (cover, title page, etc.)
• Each page can only have one letter.
• You must have a information about each event, individual, etc. on each page. This must be 5-6 sentences in length.
• Each page must have a picture that goes with it. Please remember that you are creating a picture book.
• You may not use photographs/images for your illustrations. You must use clipart!

You will be graded on the following:

• Correct information
• All required information is included in your book/completeness
• Neatness
• Complete sentences
• Correct spelling/grammar

Hopefully you learned a lot about the American Revolution and enjoyed completing your ABC's of the American Revolution book. Once complete, we will print your books and bind them. Hopefully, we can find time in our school day for you to teach the first graders about the American Revolution.
