Introduction
The Hobbit is undoubtedly a classic. One of the qualities of a classic novel is that the book has somehow changed literature for the better. By writing this novel, Tolkien created a whole new genre of literature: fantasy. Without this book, we would not see many of the franchises that we have today. Traces of The Hobbit and the basic fantasy format can be seen in many newer novels, such as the Harry Potter books. To show the impact that this book has had on modern literature, you will be creating a collage of books that have been inspired by The Hobbit --books that probably never would have been created if not for this book's creation and the installation of the fantasy genre into literature. The purpose of this task is to help you understand how The Hobbit has effected society today and the legacy that it had left on literature. Good luck and have fun!

Task

Instructions:
1. Research digital collages. You need to know the basic definition of a digital collage and how to make one. Make sure to also look at some examples.
2. Research how The Hobbit has impacted literature. Make sure to look at some examples of how traces of the book are seen in newer novels.
3. Create a digital collage using either Google Slides or www.befunky.com/create/collage/ (the "Create Your Own" layout). Use the information that you have found to put together a collection of novels that show traces of the novel. Please include the following requirements:
* Must have at least 10 novels in your collage.
* Each must be a novel.
* Each novel must have an explanation containing at least one way that it demonstrates influence from The Hobbit.
* Each novel must fit into the fantasy genre, which is said to be founded by The Hobbit.
* No two novels may derive from the same series/franchise. For example, you cannot have two Harry Potter books or Percy Jackson and the Olympians books.
* Novels may derive from the same author as long as they are part of a different series. For example, you could have one book from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and one from the Heroes of Olympus series.
* Create a title for the project! You must have the title of the project somewhere noticeable on the digital collage.
4. Turn in your project.
