Introduction
The United States started out as 13 colonies along the Atlantic Coast of North America. These colonies were controlled by the English (or British). The original 13 colonies were founded in the 1600s and 1700s, starting with Virginia and ending with Georgia.
Task
In this webquest, you will research one of the original New England colonies. During your research, you will answer these 5 important questions about the geography, history, culture, economics, and people of the colony:
1. Where is the colony located? (GEOGRAPHY)
2. When, why, how, and by whom was the colony founded? (HISTORY)
3. What was life like for the colonists living in the colony? (CULTURE)
4. What were the major industries in the colony? (ECONOMICS)
5. Who was important in the history of the colony? (PEOPLE)
Once you have the answers, you will create a 1 page newspaper about your colony.
