Area, Perimeter, and Circumference

Introduction

Are you ready to go on an adventure? Today we are going to review area and perimeter in rectangles and triangles. We will then learn about circumference and area in circles. Finally, we will look at the olympics and see how area, perimeter, and circumference are incorporated!

Task

Please read the tasks you are going to have to complete in order to finish this WebQuest.

  1.  Students will need to give the definition of both area and perimeter. Students will then describe, in their own words, the difference between the two.
  2. Students will need to write down the formulas for perimeter and area for a triangle, rectangle, and circle.
  3. Students will need to draw a circle on a piece of paper. The students will then need to label the radius and diameter. In one color, the students need to shade the area. In another color, students will need to color the perimeter.
  4. Students will practice finding area, perimeter, and circumference.
