Introduction
The civil disobedience is the avoidance of accountability and public to submit itself to a law, a regulation, an organization or a power considered inequitable by those who dispute it, while making of this refusal a weapon of peaceful fight. The term was created by the American Henry David Thoreau in its essay the civil disobedience, published in 1849, following its refusal to pay a tax intended to finance the war against Mexico. If the civil disobedience is a shape of revolt or resistance, it distinguishes itself nevertheless from the revolt in the classic sense. The classic revolt sets the violence against the violence. The civil disobedience is more subtle: it refuses to be in collusion with an illegitimate power and to feed this power by its own cooperation. The principle of the political power could make possible the efficiency of this action.
Task
Our webquest will be about the civil disobedience towards the jews. We will see that a lot of people mobilised themselves for the jews; some of them risked their lives to save them. Organisations, churches, associations, individual persons and networks were created and mobilised for them. During the world war two (1939-1945), the jews were considered as useless by the nazis. They wanted to exterminate them all. And approximately 6 millions of jews were killed. It was terrible, they have been tortured and asphyxiated in the gas chamber.
Our webquest aims at giving references about a very specific period to the students. We want them to realise the impact of the help of people during the world war two, they saved a lot of jews and we think that it is important to know that even if sometimes you disobey the rules, you can save lives and get gratitude by the world of today. You are going to know why did they get gratitude and how did they proceed.
