Introduction

Students will be introduced to an alien, asking to help him to describe the different types of weather on the planet earth. This lesson is developed for students to look at different types of weather and its relation with the seasons. The alien is a sympathetic stuffy.

Learners

This lesson is designed for five years old Kindergarten kids. Students are encouraged to express their ideas through their pictures and writing. There is also an extended activity which could be used for as an enrichment one.

Process

In this WebQuest students work in small groups. It is also important to discuss the four seasons and which season we would find a type of weather.

While researching the chosen weather pattern the children will draw a picture of the type weather in their weather journal.

Conclusion

Students will need to explain their pictures to Lolo.

Extended Activity:

As a class make a graph answering the following questions:

Which season does each type of weather occur in? In what temperature do you think each type of weather happens? (hot, cold, or both) What are some things you might do to insure safety during this weather pattern?

Evaluation

Each student will be individually evaluated by the rubric.

Conclusion

This lesson will provide the students with the background knowledge that will be necessary for them to be successful in other grades.
