Mississippi River Hunt

Introduction

In Mississippi there are many states where the Mississippi River runs through. As you travel along and visit each city that it touches, write down the towns and cities that you visited.

Task

Students will create a small group and work together using the book All Around Mississippi. The students are also able to use the internet, maps, and other resources that come available to them. Students will then travel to the cites, write down the name of the city, the name of the county that the city is located, and  write a fact about the city.

Process

Students will travel in Mississippi and use the book All Around Mississippi to find facts and the different cities where the Mississippi River touches.

Evaluation

The teacher will check the students for the correct counties, correct cities, and to make sure that the students listed a fact about the city. If the students answer correctly and meet all of the requirements for the assignment, the students will receive a 100 grade.

Conclusion

Completing the Webquest about the Mississippi River will help the students to learn more about Mississippi and the cities that the river runs through. This Webquest will also help the students to learn how to use maps correctly and their resources that they have.
