Introduction
There are many words that sound the same but are spelled slightly different. Such as the words: there, their, they're. Each of these sound the same but are spelled completely different. It is very important to know when to use each word according to how it should be used.
Task
1. Find three different words that have various spellings but sound the same.
2. Come up with a short paragraph while using all of the various spellings.
3. Partner up with someone and compare the words that you found with one another.
Process
Step 1: Go to the internet and search for three words that sound the same but have various meanings.
Step 2: Copy down the definition to each word and the various meanings that it has.
Step 3: Write one short paragraph using all of the words in the right way.
Step 4: Find a partner and then compare with them to see what words your partner was able to find.
Step 5: With your partner, you will then come up with a new word and new meaning that has a different spelling from the one that you chose.
Step 6: You will then present your new word to the class.
Evaluation
This project will be a total of 40 points. 10 from the definitions of the words, 10 from the short paragraph, 10 for comparing with your partner and coming up with a new word, and 10 for presenting.
Conclusion
You can now see how words can be tricky. But, now that you know the difference between some of these words, you will now be able to use them correctly.
