Lets Talk:

What do you know about Thanksgiving?

Who were the Pilgrims?

Open your flipbook to the first "I" tab. Here is where you will record what you learn about Pilgrims.

Lets meet a Pilgrim!

Take a tour of the Mayflower:

Click HERE to be directed to the ship. Take the time to learn more about parts of the ship, life aboard, and about the different crew members and their jobs.

I will give you exactly 7 minutes to complete this task. If you finish early, make sure you are able to answer the following questions:

  1. Would you have been able to survive on the Mayflower after learning about their living conditions? Why or Why not? (be sure to support your answer with specific details on what you learned)

  2. If you were aboard the Mayflower, what job or responsibilities would you prefer to have?

  3. How was life among the Mayflower? Can you support your answer?

                                    STOP-THINK-DISCUSS

You will now have 8 minutes to participate in a discussion with your partner. During your discussion answer the questions above. Each partner must provide their input to each question.

Extra Fun:

Image result for luggage clip art  The Mayflower had very limited space; there wasn't room to carry large suitcases, and other personal items. If you only had one suitcase to pack, what would you bring??

Not only was room an issue, they also had to consider the weight of those objects. Click HERE to try and pack your suit case without going over the weight limit.

Did you know that pilgrims talked differently than we do today? Click HERE to learn some of the special language they used.

Conclusion

Congratulations you have just completed your voyage.

During this journey you learned what life was like back in the time of the pilgrims. A lot has changed since then. The way people live changes over time.  Life in the future, just as in the past, will be vastly different from our lives today. But, no matter the differences similarities will always remain.
