Create your poster. The teacher will assign each group to an animal and its habitat. Draw a poster of the habitat that matches your animal. Be sure to include drawings of the five things that your animal needs to survive (question number 3 up above).

Here are some websites to help you design the perfect habitat for your animal.

STEP THREE

Think about how you found your animal alone on the way home from school.

Talk with your group about these questions:

  • Why it is not good for your animal to be here and not in its habitat?
  • What it is it missing?
  • What has it been eating and drinking while its here?
  • Where has it been living?

Be prepared to talk about your answers in front of the class when you present your poster.

STEP FOUR

Present your poster to the class. Tell us what kind of animal you have and what habitat your animal needs to return home to. Point out all five things on your poster that the animal needs to survive. Tell the class why your animal needs to return home to its natural habit instead of being here.

Sincerely,

(name of all group members)

Make sure everyone in your group signs the letter. Then, tape the poster around the room so everyone can see the home your animal will return to.
