A School Journey

Visiting new places allows us not only to enjoy ourselves but also to gain knowledge of other cultures and different ways of living. It's important to plan a trip in detail in order to make the most of it. Here's your destination:

Imagine you are a teacher and want to take your students on a school journey to London. Plan the trip.To accomplish your task you have to create a digital presentation which will convince your students that the trip is worthwhile.

1. You can use one of the following tools to create your presentation:

3. Your presentation should  have some pictures/photos to capture the interest of your students. The following links offer a wide range of free images:

4. You may want to insert further information such as maps (underground maps, maps of the city) or timetables (buses);

5. Your presentation should include the following points:

• explain why a trip to London would be so interesting;
• give historical information about the city and underline its importance today;
• decide which time of the school year is the best to go, how many days the school journey will last and which means of transport are preferable;
• give a list of at least 5 sights (monuments/buildings/museums) worth visiting and  illustrate, with the help of  photos/pictures, the places you have chosen to visit, explaining why they are so interesting.

6) Your presentation must be clear and persuasive in order to convince the students to go on a school journey to London.

Now that you have convinced your students  to go to London, you can stop pretending being a teacher, and start organizing a trip for yourself. Remember that you must always plan things carefully: you don't want to miss anything important, do you?  Use the internet and a good guidebook to organize your trips ; they will give you all the information you need to get the most out of your journey and will help you save time once you get to destination. 

Travelling opens your mind, it's knowledge, interaction with other people, but most of all it deepens our understanding of the world and of ourselves.
