Let's Talk Universe, shall we?

Introduction

Have you ever wondered how the earth stays in place? What about the stars? In what relation does the sun have to the movement of the planets? How about another question, how does the moon create the tides? We will answer all of these questions and more!!!

Task

In this quest, we will learn about the depth of how planets relate to one another. We will discuss the movement and the reasons for the movement. We will be split into 3 groups. Each group has a specific task.

Group 1: Find information on the movement of planets. You may use the web, books, scholarly articles, the library and information from others. (be sure to fact check!!!)

Group 2: You will research theories of the planets that have existed in the past and some that are thought to be here right now (flat earth, maybe)

Group 3: Discuss and take notes on what you think happens when there is a low tide, a high tide, and other natural phenomena that happen on earth. (earthquakes, tornados, etc.) This is from prior knowledge on what you think. Come up with your own conclusions. There are no right or wrong answers, just discuss what you think and take notes on the different theories and why you feel it happens that way.YOU ARE NOT TO DO ANY RESEARCH!

Here is one spicy guy that I think can get you going in the right direction.

Only group 1 is required to watch the videos and take notes on them.

*FOR ALL GROUPS THE NOTES SHOULD BE A GROUP EFFORT AND THEY SHOULD CONSIST OF THREE PARAGRAPHS PER PAGE. THERE SHOULD BE A MINIMUM OF 5 PAGES*

Process

This quest is over a three day period. In the three days, we will explore the movement of the planets, theories and facts.

We will then take all of the information and come up with the best project from the class. We will take the facts from group 1, the theories of group 2, and the imagination of group 3.

Each group will do a https://prezi.com/signup/basic/ presentation. The fact checkers will then reason with my imaginers and my historians on why they are right or wrong. The group will watch the presentation of the other two groups and critique their presentation. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just make it neat and easy to follow.

Evaluation

This is how your work will be evaluated.

Prezi includes all info  Prezi includes very little information. Prezi includes half of the information. Prezi includes all  information.

Conclusion

We have finished the project!  Now that you have completed your project what have you learned from the research?

Do you think that people had a right to feel that the earth was flat? Do you feel that people today still have a valid argument? Do you feel that the fact checkers still have a lot to learn? What about the imaginers?

Think about this question and write a small paragraph telling me what you learned from this project and if you think the facts about the universe will continue to evolve?

What do you think the future generations will think?
