Introduction
You are vacationing in the beautiful state of Mississippi. Your goal is to visit every town and city that the Mississippi river touches. What towns and cities would you visit?
Task
Students will divide into groups of four. Each group will use the internet, maps, and the book All Around Mississippi to answer the question "Which cities and towns does the Mississippi River touch in Mississippi"?
The students will need to list the following:
1. city/town name
2. region city/town is located in
3. a fact about each city/town
Process
In this web quest you will be working together with a group of students. As a member of the group you will each be responsible to contributing equally in this web quest. First, look at a map and see what towns the river touches and make a list. Then use the web and the book All Around Mississippi to classify what region each town is in and list a fact about each town.
Evaluation
The students work will be checked for the following:
1. Correct number of towns listed
2. Correct region listed for each town
3. Fact listed for each town

Working through this web quest will help the students become more knowledgeable about Mississippi.
