Introduction
Would you like to see what it was like to travel the world back when it was not so easy? You will be traveling the world along with an important explorer that is given to you. You will learn how exploring the world could be dangerous and exciting at the same time.

Task
You are going to explore the world through the eyes of your given explorer. You will be using different kinds of resources in order to find out more information about how your explorer traveled the world and what discoveries they made along the way.
At the end of the research you will have to give a presentation using Google Presentation.
Process
Day 1: We will discuss in class the idea of this Webquest and how to complete the different steps in this project. We will also review how to tell if an internet site is reliable.
Day 2: You will be assigned an explorer to research from the following list. Explorers List
Day 3: Spend today reading the book given to you in class. Fill out the resource graphic organizer for any information found in the book you are reading. Resource Graphic Organizer
Day 4: Today you will use the following internet sites to find more information on your explorer. Fill out the resource graphic organizer for each internet site used. Resource Graphic Organizer
If you need help finding another internet site please come see the teacher.
Day 5: If you have read your assigned book and found all your information you need to check in with the teacher before starting on your Google Presentation. You need to have 1 book source and at least 1 internet site source.
Day 6: Use the Google Presentation Template to help organize your presentation.
Day 7: Continue working on your Google Presentation. If you completed it then make 1 notecard for each slide on your presentation.
Day 8: Check your notecards and presentation in with the teacher. After the teacher has marked you off as completed, practice your presentation to 3 other people who are also done.
Day 9: Present your explorer to the class!!! Be ready to hand in all your Resource Graphic Organizers, Notecards, and Google Presentation.
