Today we will be looking at the Root System

The root system is normally underground. There are two types of root system, tap root system and fibrous root system.

The main functions of the root system are:

Anchorage

Prevent soil erosion

Absorb water and minerals from the soil.

 

Task

Objectives:

At the end of this lesson you will be able to

1. identify the different types of root system in plant with at least 80% of accuracy after listening to the   Podcast.

2.  list at least 5 functions of the root system with at least 90% of accuracy

3.  differentiate between taproot system and fibrous root system with at least 90% of accuracy.

  1. State where the root is located
  2. List the types of root system and how to identify
  3. List all the functions of the root system

 

Step 2. Look at the picture of the root and name the tyre of roots.
