Introduction
Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet. They produce vital oxygen, provide homes, and give other basic needs like food, clothing(for people). but forests now are undergoing threat of deforestation, jeopardizing these benefits all other living organisms are receiving.
The purpose of this webquest is to open the eyes of the people about the effects of deforestation and be part of the advocacyto stop deforestation.
Task
The class will be divided into two groups:
Task 1 (for group 1 and group 2)
Create a slogan about: (choose one)
- effects of deforestation
- how to stop deforestation
Task 2 (for group 1)
Conduct a tree planting program
(for group 2)
Conduct a seminar about deforestation
Process
Group 1 will find a place in the localities where forests are about to wiped out. They must complete necessary papers and permits. They should have complete materials. For the concern about the trees to be planted, group 1 will research on what type of tree should be planted on that area and how those trees must be planted correctly. After that, they must present a documentary of their activity.
For the group 2, they will choose one barangay to conduct a seminar of deforestation. Also, they must also complete permits so they can conduct a seminar. After that, they must also create a documentary of their own.
*Note
Each group will choose one leader to check the participation of everyone.
Evaluation
They are graded by their documentary.
The documentary will be graded by the rubrics prepared.
