Attention! Attention! The 5th grade students will be hosting their very first bake sale this weekend in order to raise money for upcoming field trips. I am looking forward to all of the yummy treats each student will cook up! In order to bake we will need to know how to multiply fractions by whole numbers so we can make plenty of delicious treats!
Task

Over the next few days, we will learn how to multiply fractions by whole numbers. You will use the resources I provide you in this WebQuest in order to complete this task. Once you feel comfortable multiplying fractions by whole numbers, you will choose your favorite recipe below. If you would like to choose a different recipe please get permission first! In order to make enough for our bake sale, you will have to double the recipe. Doubling the recipe means to make two of it. You will record the new measurements of your ingredients in your math journal. I will provide you an online template to assist you in recording all of your ingredients. At the end, every student in class will have the option of baking your recipes and bringing them to school. Each student will present their doubled recipe to the class.
