Affixes Webquest

Introduction

Welcome!

You will explore affixes. Please read the instructions carefully, and follow each step. 

Step #1

Go to the "Task" section at the bottom or top of the page.

Task

This activity will build your vocabulary by studying words derived from Greek and Latin roots and affixes.  

 

You will be able to define vocabulary words easier.


Remember, word parts fit together like parts of a puzzle.

Step 2: Turn to the "Word Play" section of your journal and click on "Process" at the bottom or top of the page.

Step 4:

In the "Word Play" section of the journal, write in your own words (paraphrase) the meaning of prefix and suffix.

Step 6:

Step 8:

Make this chart in your journal in the "Word Play" section.

Prefix Word Suffix Meaning
un comfort able not able to have comfort
dis agree ment the condition of not agreeing

Step 9:

Create your own foldable using four words with a prefix or a suffix.

Divide the word between the prefix/suffix and the root.

Write the meaning of the word. 

Step 10:

Put the foldable in the "Word Play" section of your journal.

Now click on "Conclusion."
