Introduction
Every good map has a scale but, what is scale? This webquest will have you reading and learning about scale, then analyzing how scale can change the information you can find on a map. There is a paper component you must complete so make sure to have that with you as you start your quest.
Task
There are three tasks you must complete:
1. Taking notes about what scale is
2. Exploring how changing scale changes map information
3. Analyze what can be learned by changing scale
Process
1. Using the website linked below, read about scale and complete the guided reading questions on your quest guide.

2. Go to Google Maps and type in your address (or the school's address: 4557 W. Patriot Ridge Dr., Herriman, Utah, 82096). Adjust the scale using the + and - at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Complete the questions on your quest guide.
