With the resources provided you will need to take notes and complete smaller activities to provide the scaffolding for your final task.
Your final assignment requires you to create a user manual for the game of Touch Football which would be suitable for yourself and other high school students to use to support them in participating in the game successfully.
It will need to include:
1. A title page
2. Brief overview of the game and its popularity in high schools in Australia

4. The rules and requirements
5. Objective, terminology and method of play
6. The skills and tactics needed for the game
7. Short conclusion, at least 3 useful sites/resources and reference list
By completing the smaller activities and final task you will be able to explore the world of Touch Football in Australia (and internationally), expanding and developing upon your own understanding and knowledge of the sport. Yourself and your class mates will then be able to share your insights on why you believe the sport is increasing in popularity within Australian adolescents and the benefits of schools incorporating it into their school community and curriculum....

2. To develop your knowledge and understanding further, these sites provide further information on basic game play and rules, that may be useful!
(Click on the text or images to be taken to the sites)
3. The following tables will provide the core content for your user manuals. The previous resources and links and the ones also stated below will help you to fill in each description.

- Touch Football Australia's Junior Development Framework and Playing For Life are great resources, so is QLD Touch Football,
- *Note: you can use other online resources but please make sure they are authentic - refraim from using Wikipedia or blog/social media posts. Remember to keep track of the all the sources you use as you will need to reference these in your final task.

The creation of this WebQuest for EDU302 Task 3, combines research-supported theories with effective use of the Internet to promote dependable instructional practices. The scaffolded learning links essential resources to an authentic task to motivate the Year 10’s investigation of an open-ended question, the development of individual expertise and participation that transforms their newly acquired information into a more sophisticated understanding (Assistive Technology WebQuest: Improving Learning for Preservice Teachers, 2008). The Webquest allows the students to see richer thematic relationships; to contribute to the real world of learning; and to reflect on their metacognitive processes. Incorporating the Internet and other information communication technologies, with an real-world learning experience enables a more learning-centered approach that taps into both critical and creative thought processes (Rahman, 2008). One of the key reasons for using WebQuests is that they prompt higher-level thinking. The questions posed to students require more than just finding and spitting back information. They must take the information they research and transform it into something else. Often students have to evaluate a variety of information sources that contain multiple opinions (Smith & Willcocks, 2004).
As a pre-service secondary teacher with a Major in Health and Physical Education I chose a topic and a real-world, authentic task for the students that is relevant and appropriate for the content and expectations of the Year 10 Health and Physical Education curriculum. Touch Football is a sport that is increasing in popularity across many Australian primary and secondary schools; so much that; it is a sport that is taught within the Australian Curriculum- Health and Physical Education (and past syllabuses used), and one that is dominating extra-curricular activies and representative sports (ACARA, 2014).
Many people enjoy Touch Football because it’s a fast, easy to learn, safe and fun sport to play. Its a sport that supports the development of children as individuals through the values of the sport (leadership, teamwork, integrity, diversity and excellence). Adolescents who participate in Touch Football have the opportunity to learn the importance of team work and team spirit; and it allows them to develop their communication and social skills (Touch Football Australia, 2016). Touch Football also develops physical skills such as hand eye and motor skills, and instils the concepts of good fitness routines while maintaining enjoyment. As Touch Football is a sport that can be participated by people well into their senior years and at the social level, the ideal that participation in sport is fundamentally fun is never lost (Touch Football - Play for Life, n.d.). By exploring this information in an innovative way, my students have the opportunity to take on an active-inquiry approach where they become experts on the topic and get to actively engage, explore and evaluate the resources and information I have scaffolded for them in this task.
