Introduction
Freedom Writers is the true story of Ms. Erin Gruwell and her high school English students. This webquest will allow you to find out more information about Ms. Gruwell and her students.
Task
Pretend you are a student at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA (Where Ms. Erin Gruwell (Ms. G) taught). Pretend that the movie is getting made about her and the students and you are writing an article for the school newspaper (which we will call The Wilson Tribune) about her/and the students' story and the fact that a movie is being made. This assignment will help you write a feature article from start to finish.

Requirements for the Assignment:
Every story should have a headline.
Every story should start with a lead (most interesting at the top).
Every feature story should have an inverted pyramid format (most interesting at the top and trickling down).
Include two people in the story and quotes from them.
Evaluation
Write at least 3 paragraphs to tell your story. Some can be shorter paragraphs. Do not copy word for word from an article on the internet. You may only use quotes exactly as they are.
