Introduction
This January 2017 you could be one of the students taking part of the English in Action exchange program from the University of Alberta, Canada. English in action has 4 main components: learning of the English language, academic expossure, intercultural communication and culture and recreation, and aims to help students, no matter their level of English, develop and further their knowledge on the language.
In the light of this upcoming oportunity, you will embark on a journey that wil take you to Edmonton, Canada. You will explore the city, find out about the main attractions, and more.
For this journey you will need to get in groups of 2/3 students. Are you ready to start? Continue to the next section.
Task

You will explore the attractions and tourist offer of Edmonton, according to the assigment in the card your teacher has provided to your group (Facts about Edmonton, its outdoor and indoor attractions, its festivals). As a group, you will create a Power Point presentation to share the results of your research with the class as well as give a short oral presentation.

A. Choosing
- Choose someone in the group to be:
- The Navigator - is responsible for navigating the internet, using the mouse, getting around the websites, etc.
- The Data Recorder #1 - records data - figures, facts and sources.
B. Researching
- Your teacher will provide you with a data sheet for recording the data you collect.
- Use the following links to research about Edmonton. You must use at least 2 sites. You must also cite your sources in your final project; and, when using pictures from the websites in your final project, you MUST cite where you retrieved the pictures.

- 1 final page with list of sources.

Congratulations! You have just completed your trip around Edmonton, CA. You have made a PPT to show your research to the class along with an oral presentation discussing your findings. You will use this knowledge next Monday August 15th during the presentation of the Edmonton English in Action program. Also, the skills you have gained through this webquest will help you in the future if you need to plan a new trip to a different destination, or simply search webpages for specific information of a different nature.
